another screen room renovation

if you read my post from yesterday you know there is always something when it comes to old houses. a few weeks ago i went to get a head start on our screen room by giving it a fresh coat of white paint and i noticed that water was leaking in from the ceiling (it was pouring rain) so now we are tracking down a roofing guy (harder than you think nobody calls you back) before we start to paint. that however did not stop me from buying a new couch for the room.

we didn’t really buy any furniture for this space because we wanted to see how we use it. we quickly discovered that we love eating dinner out here in the spring – fall. the room stays very nice and warm at night and it keeps all the bugs out. so we put a little vintage dining table in the corner and some metal chairs. (kind of want to move those outside but stay tuned.

we put the outdoor gliders from the old house on each side of the room for seating but ended up taking a bunch of naps in there on sundays. we decided this year we would get a couch for it. i already had two white slip covered couches and didn’t want a third (even though that would have been super practical for the space) we wanted to do something a little different.

we decided to go with a black, green and white theme in there. i love black and gold together and mixing in some big green plants sounds perfect to me. i was cruising through wayfair and found this gem. i loved the wild checked pattern and the clean lines. the nice part too is that it’s low to the ground and will not block a lot of the windows.

now it’s just fixing the leaking roof and a fresh coat of paint and i can move her in! (oh and curtains, floor, clean the rugs, probably some chair, coffee table….. shhhhhh)

I’m considering ordering a living room chair from Wayfair. Have you been happy will your purchases through their site?

I love, love, love your house! I live in a farm house as well, built in 1924!

    Congratulations on your little goldfish!

    • I’ve ordered three couches from Wayfair as well as curtains, rugs, etc. I have yet to return anything. I would be sure to read the reviews on the products and reach out to customer service with specific questions about the product. They’ve always been so helpful when I’m not sure about a purchase.
