ok it’s that time of the year when the weather has officially changed and i’m ready to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe. key word: few, not piles just a few. i have been way obsessed with all of the luxe and glam textures and patterns i’ve been seeing “about town”. thank God gem studded jeans are back in style because i luuuuuuuuuv it. the only thing is figuring out how to transition these super dressy textures into wearable everyday looks.
last night i went to dinner with some friends straight from work. i bought this new crushed velvet tunic dress that i’m just obsessed with but had to figure out a way to make it a bit more casual. i paired it with this free people sweater (similar here) i had from last year and some booties from mtng (last year) (hoping they make them again in a different color). it was the perfect outfit for a festive fall evening.
also on my list…. more crushed velvet. i’m obsessing over this dress from anthropologie at the moment. i love the long sleeves! wouldn’t it be so cute with tights and the same booties from above?
need: this dress
i am obsessed with free people sweaters because year after year they hold up and usually stay in style. i have been really really trying hard to not over buy and simplify my closet a bit and i’m limited myself to maybe just one or two new sweaters for fall. i need just a nice basic layering one and i think i might pull the trigger on this one. i have a brown free people cardigan similar to this but a cream would be a nice addition.
last but not least…. shoes. i have enough pairs of tall boots but i would love one pair of flat ankle boots. lucky me my pals at jb and me are having a bed stu boot event tomorrow from 12 – 6pm at their holland location. if you haven’t given bed stu a try…. you need to. they are on the higher end of the price scale but they are so worth it. the leather is like absolute butter. i have had a few pairs for over 3 winters now and they look brand new. they are going to have a huge collection at the store tomorrow if you are in the market.
anyone else feeling the itch to revamp their fall wardrobe? anything inspiring you?
